About Me

A life on the move

I’ve spent my life making a career out of doing the things that I love.

Now working on Schools Orienteering Mapping and Syllabus development with Enrich Education

Previously a full-time Sustrans schools ‘Bike It’ officer in the Bournemouth and Poole/ Luton- Bedford-St Albans area for six years (18 terms) between 2007-2013, delivering a range of cycling activities for school children.

I was a freelance mapper / coach from May 2013- February 2024, using my experience and qualifications to offer a range of mapping and coaching, enabling orienteering as a fun and challenging activity for people of all ages and abilities.

My main coaching is now Orienteering sport; teaching navigation at speed in outdoors spaces around Dorset and beyond, for schools, activity centres and privately. Competing nationally and occasionally Internationally, there are some events I come 1st in for example 1/41 here on Blue course at Wavering Down May 08th 2022

I studied an Adventure Recreation B.A gaining a 1st from De Montfort University 2003-2006, doing a degree as a mature student made sense, as before that I had worked in restaurants as a waiter in London, Australia and all that started in Milton Keynes. My first job after school was on British Rail working as a guard, so I have always worked in what I see as the service industry in customer- client facing roles.

In the first year of the Bournemouth Velodrome being open, 2011, I organised ten different school visits for over 800 children. The Velodrome is an element of my work in summer.

In July 2013 I completed the 200 hours Yoga Teacher accreditation with Keith Grant and now represent I.Y.N. the Independent Yoga Network teaching in Dorset. I taught Dynamic Yoga for 5 years, See Yoga Coaching for full info.

I didn’t make all this up, I made it all happen, see the links page for evidence. Leave me a review
